Submission Guidelines

Poetry Press welcomes submissions from both emerging and established poets. We are committed to publishing work that surprises, resonates, and endures. Before submitting, please read the guidelines carefully to ensure the best possible fit.

📚 What We Publish

We consider:

Single-author poetry manuscripts

Chapbooks (20–35 pages)

Full-length collections (50–80 pages)

Exceptional long-form poems or sequences

Translated poetry (with rights secured)

We are interested in work that is:

Original and previously unpublished in book form

Thoughtful, emotionally intelligent, and formally or thematically compelling

Experimentally brave or beautifully traditional — as long as it’s excellent.

 

📝 How to Submit

Please send:

A single PDF or Word document containing:Your manuscript (title page + table of contents encouraged)A brief author bio (100–150 words)

Optional:

A short cover note describing your work’s themes or intentions.

Formatting:

Use a clean, readable font (e.g., Garamond, Times New Roman).

One poem per page

Include page numbers

Email your submission to:📧 submissions@poetrypress.co.uk

Subject line: “Submission – [Your Name] – [Manuscript Title]”.

 

📦 Simultaneous Submissions

Simultaneous submissions are welcome, but please notify us immediately if your manuscript is accepted elsewhere.

We do not consider:

Work generated by AI

Manuscripts containing plagiarised or previously published content without disclosure.

 

📄 Rights & Publication

By submitting, you confirm that:

You hold all rights to your work

Your poems have not appeared in previous collections

(Individual poems published in magazines/journals are acceptable — please include acknowledgements.)

If accepted, Poetry Press will request:

First UK publication rights for the collection

Non-exclusive anthology and promotional rights

Authors retain all other rights.

 

Response Times

We aim to respond within 8–12 weeks.

If you haven’t heard back after 12 weeks, feel free to send a polite query.
